Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11)- The debate over expanded gambling in Kentucky could come to a head Wednesday.

A senate committee will take up the issue, and could vote on it.

A constitutional amendment has been proposed that would allow up to seven casinos in the Commonwealth.

Gov. Steve Beshear is slated to testify about the issue.

The primary sponsor, Damon Thayer is also expected to make changes in the wording.

The hearing starts at noon.
