(WHAS11) -- General Electric has filed a lawsuit against Whirlpool and two Europe companies, claiming a price fixing conspiracy.
According to GE, the conspiracy began in the 1990's to inflate the price of compressors, a part used in refrigerators.
As one of the largest buyers of the compressors, GE said its refrigerator business was hurt by the conspiracy.
The company is seeking unspecified punitive damages.
