Louisville, Ky. (WHAS) – Former Lt. Governor Daniel Mongiardo says he’s considering a run for Governor.
Mongiardo is a democrat who served as lieutenant governor during Governor Steve Beshear’s first term.
He tells the Lexington Herald-Leader he is “looking at” running for the state’s top post in three years.
Mongiardo says Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes has the attributes he would look for in a running mate.
It could be a very crowded field. Other democrats considered as potential 2015 candidates include:
Attorney General Jack Conway
Lt. Governor Jerry Abramson
Auditor Adam Edelen
House Speaker Greg Stumbo
Former Auditor Crit Luallan
Outgoing Congressman Ben Chandler
Potential republican candidates:
Congressman Brett Guthrie
Agriculture Commisioner James Comer
Tea Party activist Phill Moffett
