Louisville, Ky. (WHAS) – Former Louisville basketball player Kyle Kuric may be playing professionally in Spain now, but his presence is still being felt in Louisville.
Kuric’s family and friends set up a table at the KFC YUM Center to collect Christmas toys for sick children.
It’s part of Kuric’s foundation “Kyle’s Korner for Kids” and his mother Judi stepped in to keep the cause going.
“It’s kind of funny. We’ve gotten close to 35 text messages from him in the last half hour. ‘How’s it going? What’s going on? What are you doing? Are there lots of toys?’ He so badly wants to be here,” Judi said.
If you missed out on the donation drive during Saturday’s game, there’s still time to drop them by the Louisville ticket office at the YUM Center between 9 A.M. and 5 P.M. through Friday.
The toys that were collected will be handed out to cancer patients at Kosair Children’s Hospital on Christmas Day by Louisville Senior Peyton Siva and Miss Kentucky Amanda Mertz.
