LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – As the music begins to fade on Louisville’s Waterfront, the 3-day Forecastle Festival begins to wind down.
Heavy wind, rain and lightning rolled through the area early Sunday evening causing the crowd to run for cover but leaving a muddy field in the end.
The show was delayed but went on as planned.
Organizers say an estimated 65,000 people stopped by Forecastle this year and that’s 30,000 more that came last year.
“We went from roughly 10 to 15,000 people a day last year to over 20,000 last night so it’s exciting and it feels good,” AC Entertainment president Ashley Kapps said.
Forecastle organizers say they are very pleased with the turnout this year.
