LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Mayor Greg Fischer calls it "one of the amazing success stories in the American music scene."
"What any city wants to have is unique authentic experiences that make the citizens that live here love their city and the people that come from out of town say what a great place," Fischer said.
75,000 people are expected to descend upon the Waterfront this weekend. One spot many are sure to frequent is the Bourbon Lodge.
“It was a total experiment last year; if anyone was here last year and they went to the Bourbon Lodge it was a 30 by 30 tent. It was out together last minute," Forecastle founder J.K. McKnight said.
This year there’s been more planning, more space and more bourbon. Twelve Kentucky bourbon brands available and Mayor Fischer loves the local flair.
"Ninety-five percent of the world's bourbon comes from Kentucky and the other 5 percent is counterfeit," Fischer said.
J.K. McKnight and his team work hard to make this festival bigger and better every year. It's what makes the event thrive and attracts people from all over.
"I want to move to Louisville, I want to start my business in Louisville, I want to come eat in Louisville," Fischer said.
