LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A Louisville high school senior who underwent emergency brain surgery after being hit hard during a football game received good news Monday.

Jacob Quaife, a Waggener High School football player, is home and still recovering after sustaining head injuries on September 13.

Quaife’s coach said he noticed him wobbling and communicating in a strange manner. He was rushed to the hospital where doctors discovered bleeding on his brain and immediately sent to surgery.

Quaife’s mother Stacie said he returned home and is currently moving around while getting a lot of rest.
