LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A former Louisville middle school teacher charged with rape and sodomy is facing charges in two Kentucky counties after a court appearance Monday afternoon.
Jessica Boyers was in a Jefferson County court after she was indicted last week on more charges in Oldham County.
Louisville police said they found her in a car engaged in what appeared to be sexual activity with one of her middle school students back in the Buechel area back in April.
Boyers taught at Highland Middle School at the time of the alleged crimes but has since resigned. The victim and the family want to see this case move forward.
“They were interested in the case obviously to see where things are going to go. They are trying to live their lives and not get caught up in what goes on in the courthouse on a regular basis,” Lisa Cartier Giroux, assistant commonwealth's attorney, said.
Right now, there is no plan for a plea deal in this case.
Boyers has not spoken publically about what happened but her not guilty plea stands.
