LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Former Louisville Cardinals Peyton Siva and Russ Smith hosted a basketball camp for champions for area children.
The “Camp for Champions,” held at Louisville Collegiate School, helps children ages 6 through 16 develop their basketball skills.
Despite having busy schedules, both managed to take time out to give back to the community.
"It’s always good to give back. When I was younger a lot of the guys, especially back in Seattle, a lot of the older guys always gave back to us. God blessed me to be where I’m at today so it’s a chance for me to give back to the kids – talk with them, meet with them and play ball with them,” Siva said.
Siva just wrapped up his rookie year in the NBA with the Detroit Pistons and Smith is preparing for the draft scheduled to take place on June 26.
The basketball camp runs through June 18.
