LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- According to the National Weather Service, a flood watch is in effect from 4 p.m. Saturday through Sunday evening. Minor flooding is possible in parts of southern Indiana and central Kentucky along and west of Interstate 65.
A slow moving surface front is expected to cause multiple waves of rain over the area through Sunday night. Two to three inches of rainfall is possible with locally higher amounts in locations that experience thunderstorms. This amount of rainfall may cause minor flooding on rivers and possibly some areal flooding as well.
The watch includes the cities of Paoli, Salem, Scottsburg, Madison, Jasper, Marengo, Tell City, Corydon, New Albany, Jeffersonville, Hawesville, Hardinsburg, Brandenburg, Beaver Dam, Leitchfield, Elizabethtown, Fort Knox, Mount washington, Shepherdsville, Louisville, Hodgenville, Morgantown, Brownsville, Munfordville, Russellville, Bowling Green, Franklin, Scottsville, Glasgow and Tompkinsville.
