LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- More storms have been popping up and dropping rain and lightning on Kentuckiana neighborhoods on Friday as other areas are still cleaning up from Thursday night's heavy downpours.
A viewer sent WHAS11 a video from outside Cardinal Stadium where it was raining so hard that water began shooting out of a manhole cover like a geyser.
In Germantown the storms caused this huge crack in the pavement. Crews have been working all day to fix it.
This part of Shelby Street at the intersection of Camp is still blocked off as crews are fixing a portion of cracked road due to water pressure.
Officials said it will be early next week before everything is paved and back to usual. They said they expect the detour to be in place until the end of Friday and hopefully a lane will be open on Saturday; other lanes will then hopefully be open by Monday or Tuesday.
MSD has checked the sewer and pipes under the ground on Shelby Street and they say there was no damage.
The UofL campus did see some flooding on Thursday night as well.
