(WHAS11) - Police say five people were involved in the double shooting that killed Diana Wood and her son, Steve Wood, Jr. Thursday.  Two men are charged with the murders, but three other women are charged with helping or hiding evidence.

Tuesday police found a handgun inside a local daycare.  The owner of the Apple Star Learning and Development Center says Marcus Greene stopped by to give his wife, Dacicia Greene, lunch money.  Police say he also dropped off a gun.

"I had no knowledge of what was going on," said the owner of the daycare center.  "[The shooting] happened nowhere near the daycare."

Tiyisha Ramsey says she runs thorough background checks on her employees and found no reason to be suspicious of Dacicia.  She says Dacicia has been fired from her job at the center.

"She let her personal life come into my business," says Tiyisha.  "I'm very upset and I don't want my daycare affiliated with her personal life and situation."

Marcus Greene and Zachary Kilgore are both facing two murder charges as well as assault charges.  They are being held on a $1 million bond.

LaQuita Townsend is charged with complicity to murder.  Police say she started the altercation and lured the two victims outside and that's where they were shot.

Police say a gun used in the shooting ended up at the Apple Star Learning Center.  Wednesday it was still open for business, minus two employees.  Dacicia Greene has been fired and she is in jail, charged with tampering with evidence.  A volunteer at the center, Vickie Ramsey, is also charged with tampering with evidence.  Police say Dacicia gave her the gun and asked her to hide it in a lunch box.  Ramsey is not in custody and police say she didn't know the gun had been used in a crime.

The owner of the daycare center says she informed all of her customers about the situation and no parents opted to take their children out of daycare.

Thugs, all of them. Hope they get the harshest punishment for their crimes. Nothing but garbage that needs to be taken care of. As for the people who chose not to find another daycare???? Smart move, a gun hidden inside a daycare full of children, I can tell that lady cares about children.....about as much as the victims, and pleeeease... like we are going to believe she didn't know a crime had been commited with the gun. Why else would her buddy want her to hide it????? Doesn't take a high IQ to figure that one out.

Shut down the daycare until it can be placed under new management and put those four scum in the electric chair.
