(WHAS11) – Mayor Greg Fischer is laying out his time line to announce what's next for Metro Animal Services.
"That’s all in the final stages of that bid. It's being evaluated. Early next week we'll be making some announcements about Metro Animal Services," Fischer said.
After a scathing audit on animal services the city decided to accept bids from other organizations to take over the department.
Only one bid was placed and that was by No Kill Louisville. They submitted a proposal to the mayor's office weeks ago; details of that haven't been made public.
The city will still oversee animal control which is the law-enforcement part of the department.
