(WHAS11)—It's the last Krispy Kreme store to open its doors in the United States this year, and a first for southern Indiana.
A brand new Krispy Kreme opened in Clarksville, Ind. Tuesday morning.

It has been 44 years since the last one opened in Kentucky.

The opening signals some good news for the local economy by hiring 20 new employees.

The first person through the door Tuesday won free donuts for a year after camping out since Sunday.
