LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Firefighters were called to a kitchen fire at a two-story home on 37th Street Thursday morning.
The fire broke out around 9 a.m. A WHAS11 photographer who was on the scene said the house did sustain significant damage.
He also said one firefighter suffered a cut to the hand while fighting the blaze. The firefighter was taken to Jewish Hospital for treatment and is expected to be OK.
The fire caused an estimated $10,000 in property damage. The displaced occupants will be receiving assistance from the American Red Cross until repairs to the home are made.
No other injuries were reported.
