NEW ALBANY, Ind. (WHAS11) -- Two people were injured, including a firefighter, after a fire broke out in a New Albany home Monday night.
Firefighters were called out to the 1800 block of Grant Line Road around 11:30 p.m. and found a two-story home engulfed in flames.
“It was pretty good and when I come up Grantline Road, smoke was roaring,” neighbor Brandon Brown said.
Police said a male resident was treated at the scene and a firefighter suffered a minor back injury.
"They got out of there with nothing," neighbor Juleia Lukemeier said.
She told WHAS11 News she's known the family since she moved into her home in 2001. She said several people lived there. While it's a devastating loss, Lukemeier said she's glad the family is OK.
"You can replace everything in that house, but you can't replace them," she said.
Power was shut-off in the immediate area for several hours while firefighters worked to control the flames.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
