LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Louisville Fire and Rescue are investigating after a fire broke out in a vacant building in the 3800 block of River Park Drive.

The firefighters were called to the scene just after noon.

Investigators said they believe the fire was intentionally set and the person or persons responsible set several small fires throughout the building. Witnesses at the scene said they saw a group of teens run from the building before the fire department arrived on the scene.

Public information officer Sal Melendez said the building became unsafe and firefighters were evacuated from the building. He said one firefighter was injured during the evacuation. The firefighter was taken to the hospital with what Melendez said is a broken wrist.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this fire. If you have any information about this fire call 502-574-3721.
