(WHAS11 News)-- A man is dead following a fire at an extended stay hotel in Louisville on Saturday.
Police arrived at the scene Saturday afternoon and found smoke coming out of one of the units in the Suburban Extended Stay Louisville East hotel.
Robert Joseph Roach, 44, was taken to Suburban Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. It appears that Roach died from smoke inhalation, but his cause of death will not be confirmed until an autopsy is performed on Sunday morning.
The fire was contained to one room. Authorities say the sprinkler system put out the fire before the fire department arrived at the scene.
No cause has been released at this time. The fire is still under investigation.
