MOREHEAD, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Fire officials are investigating after a major fire swept through MSU's Downing Hall.
Morehead State University officials are assessing the damage after a fire Sunday morning at Downing Hall.
According to initial reports, the fire started on the top floor at the west end of the building. Four firefighters were injured while battling the blaze and were taken to the hospital.
Downing Hall, named after Morehead University's first coach and athletic director, was originally built in 1967 as a residence hall for student athletes. Recently, the two-story facility was being used for various offices and storage.
