LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Fern Creek home was destroyed by fire late Sunday night amid a winter storm that dumped more than a half foot of snow across Kentuckiana.
The fire broke out just before midnight in a home on the 9000 block of Fern Creek Road.
"The house is a total loss, the roof cave in, in back, so it must have been burning for some time before we got the call," Fern Creek Fire Chief Mike Schmidt said.
Schmidt said the weather didn't affect their response, but it did delay the arrival of the investigator.
The homeowner was not at home when the blaze broke out, firefighters said, and no injuries were reported.
