LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS)  G.E.’s Appliance Park in Louisville is being touted as a success story by Vice President Joe Biden.  Biden named it one of the 100 Recovery Act projects that are changing America.

G.E. is investing $600 million in Louisville and you can expect to see the jobs in the city over the next few years.  The funds will expand manufacturing of energy efficient home appliances at the Louisville Appliance Park facility.

With those funds, G.E. will bring the production of one of its lines back from China, as well as plan to add 800 new jobs through 2013.  G.E. said more than 135 new employees have been hired so far in what’s being called in-sourcing production.

Dirk Bowman from G.E. said this announcement is a step in the right direction for the economy and the company.
