LOUISVILLE, Ky (WHAS 11) -- Louisville Metro Police responded to two accidents on Blue Lick Road on Sunday.
The first was a fatal crash at the intersection of Preston Highway and Blue Lick Road around 4:30 a.m.
Jefferson County coroner identified the victim as 40-year-old Felecia Burton of Lexington and reported she died from multiple blunt force injuries.
Burton stumbled onto Preston Highway after leaving a Cuban restaurant where a Mazda minivan struck her. Police believe alcohol was a factor.
The driver of the minivan stayed at the scene and called the police.
No charges are expected to be filed.
On Sunday afternoon, a second accident occurred just 2.2 miles away from the first.
The accident was not fatal, but injuries were reported.
Officials said a plan is in place to some day straighten out Blue Lick Road to improve safety, but some feel the problem is also careless drivers.
Residents said drivers go through the area with no regard, and they see drivers texting and speeding all the time.
