CLARK COUNTY, Ind. (WHAS11) -- A man died in a tragic accident on Monday in Henryville cutting down a tree.
The limb the man was attempting to remove fell on top of him, killing him.
It's an accident that's shocked Henryville residents still reeling from the effects of the March 2nd tornadoes.
"A co-worker had a misfortunate accident," Tina Rowlett a co-worker said.
Around 3:30 p.m. Monday, two tree contractors were cutting down trees at Dieterlen Road and Otisco in Henryville; it was part of a routine foresting job.
Tina Rowlett works with the tree cutting company and says he was in the middle of taking down a limb.
"He notched it and as he proceeded to cut it. The limb came down from the top of the tree and hit him," says Rowlett.
A limb started to blow, and then it fell off. The contractor thought he could get out of the way but the limb actually made him fall into the path of the tree falling.
The name of victim has not yet been released.
