GUSTON, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The family of a murdered Meade County man spoke out about why they think his wife shot him in the head. Anne Reardon is behind bars, accused of shooting her husband, Daniel, on July 5 in their home.
We've learned that Anne was a JCPS employee.
"He was a family man," Kim Reardon, the victim's sister-in-law, said.
Kim Reardon says her brother-in-law was a loving husband and kind father of eight. She never knew him to be violent.
"I can't imagine there was any violence in that home. Especially towards her," Reardon said.
Last week, something triggered the violence and Ann is accused of shooting Daniel in the head. According to family, it was witnessed by four children in the house at the time.
"She had made that threat to him so many times and he said, you know what, you keep saying it, just do it. And she did? He was laying on the couch and she shot him in the back of the head," Reardon said.
What the dispute was about remains a bigger mystery.
"If you are mad at him, then leave. Walk out the door. Count to ten. Think about what you are going to do. Don't just take a gun and shoot him," Reardon said.
Even a neighbor says the family appeared like any other, no signs of trouble.
"Like I said I have never seen them quarrel with each other," Dwight Mueller, a neighbor, said.
Kim just wants her brother-in-law to be remembered for the good he did and the life he led.
"I feel like everyone needs to know this man wasn't a monster that was taken out Friday night. he was a good man and we loved him," Reardon said.
A school spokesperson also said that Reardon is still employed, but because she's not working over the summer. A decision on her status as an employee will be made at a later date.
