57-year-old Deborah Sue Whitacre Brown of Radcliffe, Kentucky was sentenced Wednesday on charges of making false statements related to health care matters and unlawfully possessing controlled substance by fraud.
Between 2005 and 2008, Brown allegedly submitted fake information to insurance companies on behalf of patients at University Hospital where she worked.
Various patients were billed over $63.000 total for the drugs they never recieved.
An internal audit revealed that Brown had taken over 7,000 doses of controlled substances and that she had obtained these controlled substances by fraud and deception.
