For second time since 1999, woman drives car into Kroger store

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Elizabethtown Police have charged a 52-year-old woman with DUI after they said she crashed her car into a Kroger store.

It happened at the Kroger on Dolphin Drive in Elizabethtown.

Police said June Blocker drove over the sidewalk and into the building where she hit a cash register.

One person inside Kroger was taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Another was taken by family with a hip injury.  Neither injury is serious.

Police said back in 1999 Blocker was involved in a similar incident where she a vehicle into a different Kroger store in Elizabethtown.  

Kroger said their full attention is currently directed toward the care of those injured and the safety of other customers and associates.

Blocker is being held at the Hardin County Jail and is charged with assault, two counts of wanton endangerment, criminal mischief and driving under the influence.
