LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) - - The most well known race car driver of his time took to the track at the Kentucky Speedway for practice laps before qualifying on Friday.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. is a popular and well-known driver in NASCAR; however, he has only won one race in the last 143 races.
Earnhardt Jr. had the second fastest time in the first practice Friday at Kentucky Speedway.
With a new crew chief this season Earnhardt Jr. is currently in the third spot for the Sprint Cup Series point’s race.
Earnhardt Jr. said he feels better about his team this year.
