Elizabethtown, Ky. (WHAS11)- City officials in Elizabethtown must get permission from the Drug Enforcement Administration before they can set up an unwanted prescription drug drop box.
The city council says the box will help protect the community to combat illegal prescription drugs.
The project is expected to cost $500, but the local lions and rotary clubs are paying for it.
Homes have been burglarized, and people have become victims of assault and fraud because of prescription pill abuse in the area.
