LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) - - People exposed to diesel fuel exhaust are at risk of getting cancer.
A cancer group that's part of The World Health Organization conducted two new studies.
They say for more than two decades diesel engine exhaust has been classified as a probable cancer causing agent.
The new studies show a direct link between exposure to diesel fuel exhaust and the disease.
The findings could pressure the government to put stricter limits on emissions and require greater protection for workers exposed to diesel exhaust.
