LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Students attending the University of Louisville could be introduced to more housing.
A development company has filed paperwork with the Louisville Metro Government asking for the land in the 1900 block of Floyd Street to be re-zoned.
If the request is approved, a 7-story apartment building with more than 100 units will be built.
A Metro Council planning commission sub-committee will meet to talk about the request Thursday.
It would have to receive final approval from the full Metro Council.
The developer and the university have not made a formal agreement about the housing but the school says its open to talking with the developer about affiliating the new building with the university.
