Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - A Louisville police detective is under investigation for allegedly accusing people of crimes they couldn't have committed.
Crystal Marlowe is under investigation, but does still have police powers.
The allegations are that some of the suspects she accused of crimes were in jail when the crimes were committed and because of the new charges, some sat in jail for months before being exonerated.
On Monday, Police Chief Robert White talked about why Marlowe still has police powers while under investigation.
Chief White says she still has police powers because her investigation doesn't involve her using deadly force but the chief say her status could change.
