Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - The Riverview Independence Festival is set to return to the Saturday before July 4.
The festival will take place June 28 at the Greenwood Road boat docks and is free. The fun starts at 3 p.m., live music begins at 5 p.m. The fireworks are set to launch at 10:30 p.m.
It will feature activities for the kids, including hot air balloon rides, live music and fireworks.
This will be the third year for the Riverview Independence Festival.
Around 5,000 people attended last year, but that number is expected to grow because the big Fourth of July event at Waterfront Park will not happen.
It has been canceled due to a lack of funding.
Parking space will be limited, but a shuttle will take visitors to and from PRP High School for more parking options.
