LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The former day care owner accused of theft and fraud is expected to enter a guilty plea.

According to John Balenovich with the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, an extensive plea deal is in the works.

Lewars is the former owner of the Heavenly Angels Day Care, which is the same day care that was involved in an accident in June 2012 that killed an employee and injured more than a dozen children.

Lewars currently faces two felonies and up to 20 years in prison for allegedly paying parents to enroll their children in her Louisville day care program.  Fraud investigators are accusing Lewars of taking more than $300,000.

Balenovich says Lewars is expected to plead guilty and sign a plea agreement on February 26.
