LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Louisville driver was extricated from his vehicle Labor Day morning after a single-vehicle accident on Market Street.
Police were called to the scene around 6:30 a.m. Monday after a man driving along Market Street lost control of his vehicle near Shawnee Terrace. The car struck a utility pole, snapping it in half.
After striking the pole, the vehicle went into the air, hit a van parked along the side of the roadway and finally came to rest on its side.
The driver was conscious after the accident but was extricated from the rear of the car. He was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
Market Street was shut down but has since reopened.
