LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Big changes are coming to southwest Louisville’s Sun Valley Park.
During the Southwest Community Festival, Councilwoman Cindi Fowler revealed plans for major improvements to the park including a new stage, walking paths and a playground.
The councilwoman says LG&E has been critical in making this happen. The utility company has devoted $200,000 to the renovations.
“That has kind of given me another use for the funds that I had set aside for that path. So we're going to be able to tear out the old tennis courts and put in two new ones, two new basketball courts, and a playground on the Ashby Lane side,” Fowler said.
Fowler also adds that 14 new permanent bleachers will be installed.
