LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Louisville coroner Barbara Weakley-Jones has confirmed the cause of death for a UofL cheerleader that was found dead in late July.
Twenty-two-year-old Danielle Cogswell was found in Cardinal Towne, an off-campus student housing complex with ties to the university, around 9 a.m. on Monday, July 28.
The coroner said marijuana, heroin, amphetamine and Xanax was found in Cogswell’s system. She said Cogswell died from an accidental overdose.
On July 30 LMPD said they were treating Cogswell’s death as a suspected overdose.
