LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A construction worker died after he was struck by a piece of falling plywood on Wednesday.
The incident happened while work was being done on a new student dorm on University of Kentucky’s campus.
Isaias Cabrera, 24, was a North Carolina resident.
According to police reports, wind gusts caused the piece of wood to slip from a workers hands then fall five stories before striking Cabrera.
The dorm will be named Haggin Hall and is being built near the William T. Young Library.
An investigation is ongoing.
