LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- We are told that Dixie Highway will remain closed until at least Thursday following the massive train derailment Monday. This also means that some families are still not allowed to go home.
There was a news conference Tuesday afternoon to update the public about the situation. Officials say one car contains hydrogen fluoride. According to the EMA it is not safe for people to return or for Dixie Highway to re-open until this is removed which could take days.
Officials say that styrene also leaked and thousands of gallons of butadiene blew in the air. The EPA says however that there is no immediate public health risk.
