(WHAS11) -- Men living in a homeless tent city have been given orders, they have 48 hours to pack up and leave.
The men have been living in the woods at Eva Bandman Park off River Road for months, one man has been there 8 years.
As you wind through the woods at Eva Bandman South, a small city emerges, complete with tents, a cooking area, and clothes piles. For years this has been home to more than 10 homeless men, but in 48 hours they'll be forced to leave.

"We are just trying to have a place to go and people keep moving us. We can't stay anywhere if they keep moving us, " Todd Duncan, one of the men that calls this home, said.

A number of agencies including LMPD and Metro Parks notified the men they had to go more than 10 days ago, on Thursday they reminded them again. The reason? Metro Parks says they have received a number of complaints.

"A variety of people in that area in that neighborhood just voiced some concerns to us about situations that were going on so we went in and took a look at the situation and contacted metro police and said, hey can we have your help," Parks Spokesperson,  Margaret Brosko, said.

Seven Counties and other community agencies are working with the group to find other housing.   But Nolan English with Inner City Missions says he's concerned they'll just move to another park.

"Our city is trying to evict the homeless. They are already homeless . And now they are being evicted ," English says.

Metro Parks feels they have given them ample notice and after 48 hours  all the structures left behind will be torn down.

Metro Parks said they wanted to make this as smooth of a transition as possible that's why they first spoke to them 10 days ago. Their hope is to help the homeless find a safer place to live.
