Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) – A Henryville, Indiana woman faces charges of cruelty to an animal after allegedly leaving her ex-husband's dog in her hot car to die .
The Clark County prosecutor's office has issued a warrant for the arrest of Donna Helm.
Her ex-husband, Eric Helm, said he believes she put his 1-year-old German Shepherd in the car around 1:30 in the afternoon, then left him a voicemail at 3:00 p.m. saying "Your dog is in the car."
An EMS worker and the dog's owner found the dog barely breathing in the car.
The dog later died.
