LOUISVILLE, KY. (WHAS11) – A man and a baby are taken to the hospital Thursday after a car hits a Louisville restaurant. It happened at the Longhorn Steakhouse near Hurstbourne and Taylorsville Road.

"I first thought it was a gun shot, but then you could see the wall coming into the restaurant," said Conrad Klein, a customer. "The family that was sitting there had a small baby with them. It was kind of scary for the first few minutes.”

Jeffersontown Police say a woman hit the gas instead of her brakes when pulling into the restaurant causing her to drive over the parking bump, a sidewalk, and into the dining room.

"People who were sitting on that side of the restaurant moved to the other side because the ceiling was buckled and some of the tiles were loose," added Klein.

Police say a man and a baby were taken to the hospital as a precaution and were not believed to be seriously injured.

The scene was quite an attention grabber for guests and would-be customers, many of whom snapped pictures before realizing Longhorn closed early due to the accident.

"Guess we'll head down Hurstborne Lane and find somewhere else to eat," said Kathy Whitmer, a customer.

It's not your typical drive-thru and is certainly a meal that customers will never forget.
