Cabela's officially opens Louisville store Thursday

(News release) -- Cabela’s Incorporated, the World’s Foremost Outfitter® of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear, will celebrate the grand opening of its Louisville, Ky., store with a weekend-long celebration highlighted by celebrity appearances, family events, giveaways and more.

Grand opening weekend will kick off at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, April 11 with a ribbon-“shooting” ceremony hosted by Cabela’s executives. Speakers will include Cabela’s Chief Executive Officer Tommy Millner and Chief Operating Officer Michael Copeland, among other special guests. The ceremony will conclude with Tim Herald, Cabela’s Pro Staff, and Morgan John, Diamond Pro Staff, shooting the ribbon with bows and arrows. 

And that’s just the beginning of the celebration of Cabela’s 44th retail location across the United States and Canada. Here is a schedule of family activities as well as special guests who will be appearing at the store throughout the weekend:

Thursday, April 11 
  

  • 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.: Tim Herald, Cabela’s Pro Staff

Opening weekend also will include giveaways and events for the entire family. The first 50 customers through the door Friday will receive a Cabela’s camp stool valued at $16.99. On Saturday, the first 50 will receive a commemorative Cabela’s cap valued at $14.99. On Sunday, the first 50 will receive a Cabela’s gift card valued between $5 and $100. Throughout the weekend, customers 18 years and older will have a chance to enter to win a $1,000 Cabela’s shopping spree.

The 88,000-square-foot store is located at 5100 Norton Healthcare Blvd. in the Old Brownsboro Crossing development at the intersections of Interstates 265 and 71 near Summit Lifestyle Center. It includes thousands of quality outdoor products, as well as a mountain replica, wildlife displays, aquarium, boat shop, indoor archery range, Gun Library, Bargain Cave, Deli and Fudge Shop.

Store hours opening weekend will be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. To contact the store, please call (502) 365-9020.
