LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- It wasn't your typical day at school for students at Byck Elementary in Louisville.
Instead of burying their noses in book work, students spent the day going from one classroom to another all in appreciation of "Arts and Humanities Day."
The schools music teacher Dana Gumm rallied 23 local artists to showcase their work at the school.
Artists ranging from dancers, photographers, painters and musicians either performed their work or showcased their work in a classroom.
Gumm says this day is about helping students find their creative side.
The artists came from all over the community many of them are students or professors from the University of Louisville.
