MOUNT WASHINGTON, Ky. (WHAS11) – A Bullitt East High School teacher, John Hunt, has resigned from coaching men’s basketball after being arrested concerning a domestic situation.

An attorney for Bullitt County schools, Eric Farris, said Hunt didn’t want to cast a bad light on the program so he resigned from coaching. Farris said Hunt’s arrest is not school related and doesn’t appear to effect his ability to teach; however, Hunt will be supervised and his teaching responsibilities will be under review while the case is ongoing.

Principal Willie Foster says there will be a meeting at Bullitt East High School on Thursday night so parents and players can discuss the future of the men’s basketball program. Foster says Troy Barr will fill in at head coach for the time being and until a long-term replacement can be found.
