Multiple fires, damage reported across Louisville after strong storms move through

(WHAS11) --  Multiple fires were reported to WHAS11 around the Metro area on Wednesday.

A fire started by a lightning strike in the 5900 block of Chenoweth Run Rd. is under control. A firefighter told WHAS11 that the fire was in the attic.

Another fire was reported in the 3500 block of Brockton Lane, and a third at Chenoweth Lane and Brownsboro Road.

There are also reports of multiple lightning strikes around the area. There was a strike at 200 block of East Oak Street and another strike at a school called Ahrens Educational Resource Center located in Louisville. Click here to see damage at Ahrens.

Not only have multiple fires broken out in the area, but strong thunderstorms that moved through Kentuckiana have caused a number of downed trees and power lines. One area reported to have downed lines at Riverdale and Mellwood.
