Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11)- A vote by Louisville’s Regional Airport Authority helps determine the fate of trees around Bowman Field. The board decided to go ahead with a study looking at the area surrounding Bowman Field and see if the trees are too tall for the new FAA safety standards.
Residents have complained they do not want trees surrounding their homes to be cut down or trimmed. The airport authority has said it is one possibility in order to comply with the new standards.
Officials say the survey will likely be done sometime in the spring or summer and they will have a resident on the panel to help hire a company to do the surveys.
