Bourbon bottle raffle drawing to benefit slain officer's family

BARDSTOWN, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A raffle drawing benefiting the family of murdered Bardstown Police Officer Jason Ellis will take place Thursday at 2 p.m.

The Bardstown Police Department is raffling off a Jim Beam Distiller's Masterpiece bourbon bottle, Jim Beam will match the proceeds which will all go to Ellis' widow and two children.

This is the only Jim Beam Distiller's Masterpiece Bottle available to the public at this time.

You can purchase a ticket from Bardstown Police Officer Tony Latterly, Deeann Hogan or Trish Gribbons at the Jim Beam Clermont Plant, Judy Bowman or Robin White at the Clermont GIC, Lona Yates at the Booker Noe Plant, Jackie Wright at Maker's Mark Loretto Plant, Jeff Wimsett at Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts in Bardstown or Kim Hettinger at the Jim Beam Frankfort Plant.

Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20.

Police believe Ellis was ambushed, shot to death, when he stopped to clear debris from the Bluegrass Parkway.
