MARION COUNTY, KY. (WHAS11) -- A Bardstown man is was arrested early Friday morning after police said he crashed his car while driving drunk.
According to a news release, 44-year-old James Mackin was driving south on Burke Springs Road when he left the roadway and dropped off the shoulder. Police said Mackin crossed a residential lawn, drove through a small pond and across a driveway before hitting a utility pole.
The accident happened around 11:20 p.m. Thursday and Mackin was transported to the hospital where he was treated and released.
Upon his release from the hospital early Friday morning, police arrested Mackin and he is now charged with DUI.
Police said Mackin is awaiting a court date at the Marion County Detention Center.
