Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - It’s been a spirited debate about bourbon and who owns the title of Bourbon Capitol of the World.

So is it Bardstown or Louisville?

The mayors of those cities coming together in Bardstown to tour distilleries and to toast the industry that's now spelling jobs.

Bardstown, home of the Heaven Hill Distillary, had often been called the Bourbon Capitol of the World.
After the Evan Williams Experience opened, Mayor Fischer began calling Louisville the Bourbon Capitol of the World.

He quickly got a phone call from Mayor Bill Sheckles.

Mayor Fischer went in peace to Bardstown, offering Mayor Sheckles a special mayor's bourbon with both of their pictures on it.

Both agreed the bourbon boom is good for Louisville and for Bardstown.

Bourbon is the biggest and fastest seller of all distilled spirits. Mayors from both cities have acknowledged that what's good for one is good for the other.
