AUSTIN, Ind. (WHAS11) -- The mayor of a Southern Indiana city is now on probation and must perform community service after taking a plea deal for ethics complaints.

Austin, Ind. Mayor Doug Campbell and his campaign partner Terry Danner pleaded guilty to electioneering.

The charge is for campaigning when you know someone is holding an absentee ballot.

Campbell and Danner were accused of voter fraud in 2012 in Campbell’s re-election.

But those charges were later dismissed.
